1969 Chevrolet Chevelle 2 Dr Coupe

The muscle car market is a little soft now, so driving a dream machine that has the real goods can be a reality for a lot less.  This beautiful car has all the stuff Super Sport cars have plus extras.  Powered by a Bowtie Big Block with 468 cubic inches, about 440 horsepower twists the drive shaft.  The 4 bolt main engine has been professionally balanced and runs a big easy breathing cam, roller rockers, Mallory ignition, Edelbrock Performer intake, and is topped by a Holley 750 cfm deuce pump.  Hooker headers shove the exhaust gas down big 3” exhaust tubes, and an aluminum 4 core radiator keeps the mill running cool.

Great performance is what this little Chevelle is about.  The bulletproof TH400 transmission has a shift kit and is equipped with a 3800 rpm stall converter to keep the ponies at bay.  At the business end of the car, the  Auburn 12 bolt Positraction rear end with 3.42:1 gears and 31 spline axles makes sure this coupe scoots like a cockroach on a hot griddle, and there is no way in hell you are gonna break it.  

This Chevelle is trimmed inside in cushy charcoal broadcloth, with a folding bench seat, custom headliner, plush black carpets and a matching finished trunk.  There is a 100 amp sound system, a custom steering wheel and gauges.  Outside, a rich Black Cherry paint job with subtle graphics looks just right, and it is shod with polished Centerline alloy wheels and new radial tires.  This car is an incredible bargain when you consider that similar Chevelle SS cars with original components sell for two or three times as much.  Moreover, those collector cars cannot be driven without scrubbing away all their value, and lets face it – in stock trim they pale in comparison when the pedal hits the medal.
