This Chevelle has been upgraded to produce some SERIOUS performance. Under the cowl induction hood lies a gnarly new ZZ502 power plant that delivers a nominal 502 horsepower thanks to its Edelbrock aluminum heads, RPM air-gap manifold, Holley 850 cfm double pump carburetor, MSD billet distributor and 6420 ignition, and Hooker headers. The engine is topped with black powder coated aluminum competition valve covers, has Meziere electric water pump, March serpentine belts, and plenty of credentials as one of the toughest street motors in production today. It is cooled by a Be Cool radiator and transmission cooler, PermaCool oil cooler, and dual thermostatically controlled puller fans. The TH400 transmission has been beefed up to handle all the ponies, and a 12 Bolt 4.10:1 Positraction rear end ensures great traction thanks to Hotchkis TVS sport suspension, heavy duty sway bars front and rear, and adjustable coil spring rear suspension. New BF Goodrich tires are wrapped around lightweight Weld Drag Star wheels. The thirsty engine is fed by a Holley competition fuel pump that sucks high octane from a 12 gallon fuel cell.
This ride is all business and the business is FUN. It has a new bucket seat interior squeezed in between a professionally built roll cage that will allow this car to compete on the strip as well as provide some exciting moments on the street. It has a new dash pad, carbon fiber AutoMeter gauges, Monster tach, B&M Mega shifter, and tinted windows. The original radio is no longer in the car, nor is the air conditioning system. The body, frame, and all components are solid and free of rust. The Garnet Red and Tuxedo Black paint is free of any chips or damage. The chrome trim is excellent. This is a very, very nice ride that is not for everyone, because it is a lot of car to handle, but for that person who still remembers what a real hot rod is like, it is a peach.
